I took these photos as I was writing my ‘Primary School Diaries’ novel, soon to be published on Amazon for ages 8 and up. As part of my planning I had stuck lots of post it notes on the wall to help me order my thoughts, and as I transferred the notes onto my computer, I scrunched each one up and threw it in a pile. The pile could look like failure, but to me it was a picture of success, or breaking down a big task into little bite size chunks, and the pile of screwed up paper growing as I achieved each little task. I hope these photos will inspire students with their own studying or challenges they face.

A fun and educational colouring activity, ideal for primary school students, and students learning English as a foreign language. Appropriate for students learning the names of the countries, and the languages spoken. Could be printed out and coloured in to stick on the front of a book or folder to help organise the subjects being studied at school or college. A hand drawn activity worksheet that I created for my geography students (of all ages) in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. The activity was to make a volcano and a fact sheet about volcanoes in a group or on their own for their homework. There was a prize for the best ones, and we invited the rest of the school to come and see them in action. It went down very well indeed! It was a great way to finish off the term, with a fun activity after studying tectonics all year.
